Purpose

The AMAPCEO Constitution vests in the Board of Directors “the management of the affairs of the Union.”

The purpose of the Board is therefore to carry out this mandate by:

• Providing effective collective leadership in identifying and advocating for the best interests of the membership.
• Approving and overseeing policies, budgets and strategic plans that provide effective representation and service provision for the membership.
• Approving effective staffing and delegation of authority to deliver representation and service provision.

This Board Policy Manual contains current adopted Board policies which provide the necessary framework of rules for appropriate Board governance. The purpose of this manual is to achieve the goal of good governance, to promote consistency of Board action, to provide guidance for decision-making, and to serve as a reference tool to guide and new and experienced Board Directors.
