AMAPCEO President Dave Bulmer has submitted a brief to the Ministry of Finance as part of the current round of pre-budget consultations. The AMAPCEO submission focuses on five specific recommendations:
- The government must end its policy of wage restraint in the public sector;
- The government must work to increase revenue;
- The government must continue its efforts on pension reform;
- The government must minimize the use of consultants throughout the public service, but most pressingly in Information Technology; and
- The government must, given the Auditor-General’s recent report, look to bring more management of public sector construction projects in-house.
