Michael Helfinger, long-time AMAPCEO activist, retired from the OPS

Michael Helfinger, a long-time AMAPCEO member and activist, retired on August 3 from the OPS. Helfinger was involved in union activism and held several important volunteer and elected roles throughout the years, including as Workplace Representative, Delegate, and AMERC Co-Chair, as well as a Chapter Chair under the union’s old governance model.

Helfinger was especially known for his staunch advocacy on behalf of the members of the Ministry of Economic Development.

“AMAPCEO members, especially those at Economic Development, are the better for Michael’s advocacy,” said President Dave Bulmer. “He leaves big shoes to fill, and his dedication and his wit will be missed. I wish him all the best in his retirement.”
