Update

Wednesday, October 31, 2018

In addition to the President, the other executive officer position that is up for election this year is Treasurer. As of the close of nominations last week, two candidates were nominated for Treasurer: Incumbent Chris Harper and District Director Angela Freeman (Mowat/Hearst District). The election will be held at the Annual Delegates’ Conference, scheduled for December 4-6 in Toronto.

There will be one contested election for District Director:  Rocco Fasano and Claudio Pevide were nominated in Bay Street District to succeed retiring Director Jane Colonna (see article below).  Candidate statements will be posted on the website for members in Bay Street, who will receive more information shortly about how to vote in the on-line election process.

Five other incumbent District Directors were re-elected to the Board by acclamation:  Larysa Andrusiak (Western Ontario District); Pat Bradley (Midtown Toronto District); Kerry-Ann Douglas-Powell (GTA North District); Angela Freeman (Mowat/Hearst District); and Scott Gothard (Northern Ontario District).  Two candidates had originally been nominated for the Director vacancy in College Park District (caused by the recent resignation of Lancy Cheng), but one subsequently withdrew, resulting in the acclamation of current District Vice-Chair Nancy Miranda, who will join the Board to fill Lancy’s vacancy.

Under AMAPCEO’s governance structure, one-half of the 16-member Board positions turn over each year, so the Vice-President, Secretary and five other Director positions have terms that continue for another year (seven Director positions were up for election this year because of the early resignation in College Park).
